Instantly is a cold email platform whose SuperSearch database covers 450M+ B2B contacts and whose warmup network, by the vendor's count, spans more than 1,000,000 real mailboxes. It sends sequences from many connected accounts on volume-priced plans, adds credit-metered AI agents for prospecting and replies, and exposes an API, SDK, CLI and MCP server.

About Instantly

Instantly is a cold email platform built on one pricing idea: charge for sending volume and uploaded contacts, not for every mailbox you connect. Its co-founders Nils Schneider and Raul Kaevand built it for their own lead generation agency after the per-account pricing of the tools they used kept rising as they scaled, according to a Starter Story profile that dates the company to 2021. The legal operator is Foo Monk, LLC. Funding is left out because no primary source states it.

In practice you connect Google or Microsoft mailboxes, switch on warmup, load or search for leads and run sequences from the Outreach product. Sequences can mix email, LinkedIn and webhook steps, and replies from every mailbox arrive in one Unibox inbox with AI reply labels. Lead data is a separate product: SuperSearch and the AI agents are paid for through a credits subscription, which is why a team that wants everything usually looks at a bundle.

It sits on the sending side of the stack. The contact data comes from elsewhere: Apollo bundles a database with sequencing, while Clay enriches lists but does not run sequences itself, which leaves the sending to a tool like Instantly. Seamless.AI is a lead database you would pair with a sender. Our best AI SDR tools guide argues the data layer matters more than the autonomous agent, and Apollo vs Clay compares two of those tools. Ads and SEO pages belong to a different job, handled by the growth agent Revnu, and the rest of the AI SDR category is worth a read before you commit.

The AI features run on several large language models, including ones from OpenAI and Anthropic, or on your own model API key. Those are the labs behind ChatGPT and Claude. For teams that automate their own stack, the docs describe an API, an official TypeScript SDK, a CLI and an MCP server, and the integrations marketplace lists connectors for HubSpot, Slack and Zapier, among others.

Instantly is browser-first, with an iOS and Android Unibox app. It suits agencies and small outbound teams that already know why they need several sending domains. It suits a buyer who wants to read the contract first less well: the terms cap connected accounts, treat the sending domains it sells as its own infrastructure and make you the legal sender of every message, so read them before you build a business on it.

Pricing

Instantly sells Outreach (the sending) and Instantly Credits (lead data and AI) as separate subscriptions, or as bundles. There is no permanent free plan: the 14-day trial needs no card and includes 250 uploaded contacts and 1,000 emails.

Outreach: Growth is $47 a month, Hypergrowth $97, Light Speed $358 and Enterprise is custom. Yearly billing lists $37.60, $77.60 and $286.30 a month. Plans stop at their email and contact limits and the vendor says you move up a tier rather than pay overage. The Hypergrowth card lists 125,000 emails a month while the comparison table on the same page lists 100,000, so confirm before buying.

Credits: Nano is $9 a month for 150 credits, Growth $47 to $77 for 1,500 to 2,000, Supersonic $97 to $147 for 5,000 to 7,500 and Hyper Credits from $197 for 10,000 to 200,000. Unused credits expire two months after purchase on monthly plans and a year after on annual plans. The AI Sales Agent costs 5 credits per lead and the AI Reply Agent 5 per reply, so 1,500 credits covers at most 300 agent-generated leads.

Bundles pair the two: Starter is $94 a month, Scale $194 and Agency $555, each 10 percent cheaper on yearly billing. Add-ons are $87 a month for 25,000 more contacts and 125,000 more emails and $425 for 50,000 more credits. Done-for-you domains cost $15 a year, Google mailboxes $5 a month ($10 pre-warmed) and Airmail mailboxes $4. The VIP managed service is quoted per client. For a database with a free plan, see Apollo; for enrichment-first pricing, see Clay.

Key Features

  • Warmup with a slow ramp: Warmup sends 2 emails on day one and adds 2 each day, with read emulation and adjustable open and reply rates, inside a pool the vendor puts above 1,000,000 real accounts.
  • SuperSearch lead database: Searches a 450M+ contact B2B database with 13 filters including keywords and lookalikes, then finds work emails through waterfall enrichment across 5+ providers, billed in credits.
  • AI Sales Agent: Reads your website, finds and enriches matching leads, writes the messages, follows up and books meetings; the vendor says setup takes 30 seconds from a pasted URL.
  • AI Reply Agent and Unibox: Replies from every connected mailbox land in one inbox with AI reply labels and a drafting agent, plus an iOS and Android app for answering away from a desk.
  • Multichannel sequences and A/Z testing: Sequences mix email, LinkedIn and webhook steps; Growth gets basic A/Z testing and Hypergrowth and above get the full 26-variant version.
  • API v2, SDK, CLI and MCP server: Manage campaigns, leads and mailboxes in code, connect Google and Microsoft accounts over OAuth and receive webhooks (Hypergrowth and above), within a documented per-workspace rate limit.
  • Done-for-you domains and mailboxes: Buy domains and Google or Airmail mailboxes inside the app, delivered configured and optionally pre-warmed, instead of editing DNS yourself.
  • SISR sending infrastructure: The Light Speed plan adds Server and IP Sharding and Rotation, which assigns dedicated server and IP blocks and swaps out flagged IPs.

Pros

  • Prices sending by volume and contacts instead of by mailbox, the problem Kaevand says the founders set out to fix, prices that rose as they scaled, so adding another domain adds no per-mailbox fee.
  • G2 shows 4.8 out of 5 from 4,161 reviews in an October 2026 read, a large sample for a single cold email product.
  • Publishes a plain-text pricing file at /pricing.md for AI agents that lists every plan, add-on and per-action credit cost, so the bill is easy to model before signing up.
  • Sending, warmup, lead search, AI replies and developer access sit behind one login, so a small team avoids stitching together a sequencer, a warmup service and a lead database.

Cons

  • The terms of service cap a workspace at 100 connected accounts, so "unlimited email accounts" on the pricing page describes the plan, not the contract.
  • Outreach and credits are billed separately, so wanting sending, lead data and the AI agents means two subscriptions or a bundle, and unused credits expire.
  • The terms make all fees non-refundable and non-cancellable, with no pro-rata refund for an unused month.
  • The terms define domains and mailboxes it provisions, including done-for-you ones, as resources Instantly owns and controls, so check what happens to them if you leave before building sender reputation on them.
  • You are the legal sender: the subscriber is named the sole sender under CAN-SPAM and responsible for list and content compliance, including AI-written messages.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do you pay for Instantly?

Outreach, the sending product, costs $47 a month on Growth, $97 on Hypergrowth and $358 on Light Speed, and yearly billing lowers each by about 20 percent. Lead data and the AI agents run on a separate credits subscription from $9 a month, or you can buy a bundle at $94, $194 or $555 a month. A 14-day trial needs no card. Budget extra for pre-warmed Google mailboxes at $10 each a month, domains at $15 a year and the $87 add-on for extra contacts and emails on Hypergrowth and above.

Is Instantly good for cold email?

It is built for volume cold email, which is where its pricing helps: connecting many domains adds no per-mailbox fee, and warmup runs on every plan. What it cannot do is promise inbox placement, because results depend on your domains, list quality and copy, and the warmup network size is the vendor's own count. It suits teams that already know why they run several sending domains and is a harder first tool for someone with no list and no sending history.

What should you use instead of Instantly?

Choose [Apollo](/hub/tools/apollo) if you want a contact database and sequencing from one per-user subscription with a free plan. Choose [Clay](/hub/tools/clay) if enrichment and research agents matter most, and expect to pair it with a sender. Choose [HubSpot](/hub/tools/hubspot) when your CRM already holds the contacts and you accept per-seat hub pricing. Choose [lemlist](/hub/tools/lemlist) when LinkedIn steps and calling belong in the same sequences.

Instantly or Apollo: which should you pick?

Pick Apollo when the contact database is the main need and you want one price per user. Pick Instantly when sending is the constraint: it prices by emails and contacts, accepts many mailboxes with warmup, and keeps lead data in a separate credits subscription. Because Instantly takes uploaded lists, a list built in either Apollo or Clay can be sent through it.

How do you set up Instantly?

You need a sending domain you control and at least one Google or Microsoft mailbox, which you connect through OAuth, or you can buy done-for-you domains and mailboxes inside the app. Start the trial, connect the mailbox, turn on warmup with its one-click activation, then upload contacts or search SuperSearch for leads. The docs at developer.instantly.ai cover the API if you want to script the setup.

Top Alternatives

  • lemlist: Pick lemlist if LinkedIn, calls and a built-in database matter, and Instantly if email volume and mailbox count are the whole job.
  • Apollo.io: Pick Apollo if the contact database and a free plan matter most, and Instantly if sending volume and mailbox count are the constraint.
  • Clay: Pick Clay to build and enrich lists with research agents, and Instantly to send them, since Clay still needs a sequencer.
  • Seamless.AI: Pick Seamless.AI for a live contact database, and Instantly when you also need sequencing, warmup and a shared inbox.
  • Revnu: Pick Revnu for an approval-gated agent that also runs ads and SEO pages, and Instantly for dedicated cold email volume.
