Use HokAI when you need a defensible shortlist rather than a long list. Describe the job to Smart Match, check each pick against its profile for pricing, limits and data handling, and see when the vendor pages were last re-read. Paying for a listing never moves a score.
Founded by Damien and based in Singapore, HokAI profiles 574 AI tools and 150 models. Its Smart Match engine asks about your work and budget, then commits to three picks with reasons. Ratings are editorial, and every profile shows the date it was last checked.

About HokAI
HokAI is an independent AI directory run from Singapore by founder Damien, who spent ten years in iGaming affiliation building vertical directories before turning to AI. The premise is simple: finding AI tools is easy, choosing one is hard, so the profiles are deep enough to hold an opinion and a recommendation engine sits on top of them.
That engine is Smart Match. You describe the work, it asks what it still needs to know, then commits to three picks with the reasoning shown. Underneath is the directory, which today profiles 574 AI tools and 150 models, plus agents, skills, services and companies. Every profile carries pricing tiers, limits, deployment, data handling and alternatives, and shows the date it was last checked. Smart Stack lets visitors keep the tools they run in one place and see what the set costs together.
Records start from the vendor's own pricing, documentation, changelog and trust pages, and anything a vendor does not publish is left blank. They are re-read on a rolling schedule rather than daily, and the date shown as checked changes only after a real comparison with the vendor's pages. Guides carry the longer comparisons and explainers. The older change log at Pulse is an archive, not a live feed.
Money works one way. Ratings and fit scores are HokAI's own editorial assessment. A vendor's flat listing fee does not buy a score. The one honest limit of the model is that a paid listing links to the vendor with a followed link, which readers should weigh. HokAI also sells or licenses anonymized, aggregated reports, and passes identifiable contact details to a vendor only when a visitor opts in. Smart Match chats are kept out of model training. If you find a wrong figure, tell the team and the correction is made in the open.
Where HokAI is the wrong tool: it is a Singapore-based team with a small catalogue next to the largest directories, so people who want the longest possible list, or a search by raw volume, will find bigger indexes elsewhere. HokAI is built for the narrower job of shortlisting three options you can defend.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is HokAI?
It is an independent directory run from Singapore. It profiles tools, models, agents, skills, services and companies, and pairs them with Smart Match, a free recommendation tool that shortlists three options from a plain description of your work.
How does HokAI make money?
Vendors can pay a flat listing fee, and paid listings link to the vendor with a followed link. Ratings and fit scores are editorial and are not affected by whether a vendor paid. HokAI also sells or licenses anonymized, aggregated reports.
How often are HokAI records checked?
Records are re-read against the vendor's own pricing, documentation and trust pages on a rolling schedule, not daily. The checked date on a page changes only after someone has actually compared it with the vendor again.
Does HokAI use my Smart Match conversations to train AI models?
No. The privacy policy says chats are never used to train or fine-tune any AI model. Identifiable contact details reach a vendor only if you opt in, and you can withdraw that consent in your account settings.
How do I get started with HokAI?
Open Smart Match, describe the work and your budget, and answer the few follow-up questions. You get three picks with the reasoning shown, and each one links to a full profile you can check. Save the tools you use in Smart Stack to see the combined cost.
