What separates it from generic dictation is that it targets fields, not paragraphs. A care record is a dense grid of discrete items, and voize maps free speech onto those items rather than producing a transcript somebody still has to key in. Its recognition is trained on care work: nursing abbreviations, regional dialect, and the background noise of a corridor at handover, which is where dictation tuned to a physician's dictaphone tends to fail. It suits operators already running a long-term-care record system such as connext VIVENDI, and suits them badly if their site is an acute hospital standardised on Epic or Cerner. The economic buyer is usually a group operator watching turnover and overtime; the actual user is a floor nurse with no training budget, working from whatever handset is already in a pocket. The company was founded in Berlin in 2020 by twin brothers Fabio and Marcel Schmidberger with Erik Ziegler, after watching their grandfather's care home lose nursing time to paperwork. The only figure voize has stated publicly is a German licence cost of 12 to 15 EUR per user per month, quoted at a 2024 trade show; it has not published US pricing ahead of its 2026 launch.
