Re-taking a Smart Match Session
You can run Smart Match as many times as you like. Sessions don't carry over — each one starts fresh.
Starting a New Session
After you get your results, click New Session. That clears the conversation and takes you back to the opening screen. You can type a new prompt or use a Quick Start card.
If you navigate away from Smart Match and come back, you'll start fresh automatically.
When to Retake
Your situation changed. New budget, different role, different team size — run again with the updated context.
Your first prompt was too vague. If you opened with something broad and the results weren't quite right, try again with more specific input.
You want to compare. Run two sessions with slightly different contexts and see how the recommendations shift. Useful when you're deciding between different approaches.
Time has passed. The directory gets updated regularly. New tools get added, pricing changes. A retake a few months later may surface different or better options.
Why Results Can Differ Between Sessions
Small changes in wording can shift the ranking. The system is also non-deterministic in some respects, so even identical inputs might produce slightly different results. The top tools tend to stay consistent, but the exact order and alternatives can vary.
Directory updates are another factor. If a new tool was added since your last session, it may appear now.
